Want to make God laugh...

So I'm still student teaching at my first placement and I was just beginning to love snow days more than the kids until I realized how much it messes up the order of my lesson plans.  I have to double up on the right classes in order that all the student in each grade are learning the same things.  Whew...

I am learning so much and although I have days where I feel like a failure, other days i feel like I could really do this and love what I do.

All I know is when I depend on God for the strength to get through the day, that day turns out a lot better than when I forget to trust God and hand the day over to Him.  Today was a good day.  Praise God!

Alright, back to the grind.

Yeah, I guess a lot has happened since December 15th and even though I have been busy I thought I would let you guys know how things are going. 

On Tuesday I started at my first student teaching placement.  I'm finally able to take what I know and use it to teach real live breathing kids!  I can't tell you how much I LOVE it.  I feel like this is what God made me to doand it is So Exciting!  I also am with my music teacher from high school.  Now he is teaching elementary at a defferent school.  It is so amusing to see this man who I know from high school dancing around with the kindergarten.  We have a blast with the kids and he is great with them.  The kids just love him.  On my second day at school I was teaching mini lessons and everyday I teach more and more.  Next week I get to do 15-20 min lessons for everyclass K-6th grade. 

I love living at home but I miss everybody at school.  Especially Drew... but also the girls in the dorm and even my profs. 

Well I guess I should go practice my recorder...I have to be better than all the fourth graders by Monday...

I want to hear good comments on what you remember good and bad about YOUR music teachers...I have a lot to learn here people.

Yea!!!!!!

Hooray I got an A on my orals, not to mention it was a blast.  It was so much fun with Boykin and i learned a lot.

Conducting the wind Ensemble went well.

I even got an 80 on something that I thought I was going to bomb miserably.

My school bill is almost paid and...

I have my awesome student teaching placement!  I will be able to live at home next semester!

God is so good all the time and I have so much to be thankful for.  Praise Him!!! 

I never knew so much could be expressed with just a little yellow dot.

Five Class days left!

Tomorrow I take my orals!!!!   If anyone is reading this...please pray for me...They are at 12 noon on Wednesday.  I have Boykin...he compiled the notes....I'm afraid.

 I don't really know the best way to say this so here goes...

I'm Engaged!!!

Wahooooooooooooo!!!

And so begins story telling time in the land of mydormia.  So here's how it went down...

1st --Boyfriend (now fiance') picks me up at my dorm with a dozen beautiful roses wearing my favorite dress shirt of his and and extra spritz of cologne (I am slightly suspicious).

2nd -- Boyfriend (now fiance') takes me to an outdoor hike at Little Rocky Glen, (waterfalls included) a special surprise place.  *note, still while wearing the dress shirt and extra cologne (I am slightly more suspicious).

3rd -- As we walk along the trail Boyfriend (now fiance') seems a tad more task oriented and is not wasting time by taking in the scenery and enjoying calm conversation as much as usual (My suspicions seem less suspicious). 

4th -- While walking along the river side on the rocky glen enjoying the waterfalls, Boyfriend (now fiance') pulls out surprises that were hidden along the rocky shore. (in my mind "oh yeah, this is it.  Wahooo....oh my word!!!...")

Surprises included:

• My Favorite Flowers (Lilies)
• Sparkling Mixed Berry Juice - yum
• A CD Player (Battery Operated) that played our song ("Your Everything" -Kieth Urban) 

5th --We proceeded to slow dance to our song and whisper sweet nothings in to each others ears.

*I will pause for gag time*

6th --After the song he got down on his knee and pulled out my beautiful engagement ring and asked me to marry him.  Of course I at least think that's what he said because I have no recollection of words because my thoughts were so loud and excited. 

While he was still on his knee I hugged him and then shouted "Yes!" and he slipped the ring on my finger and

then we danced again and ...

And then we went to my favorite restaurant and had a great meal.  And we lived happily ever after.

This is my man! He's SO cute.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful, romantic, hansome, intelligent, thoughtful, good, godly man to be engaged to.  I love you Drew and I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with you as your wife.
